Volunteers are an essential and valued part of our team, helping clients at the LINK to cope with the effects of acquired / traumatic brain injury, and to regain as much independence as possible.
The key attributes we seek in a volunteer are a responsible attitude, reliability, good communication skills, and good social skills and tact. Knowledge of acquired / traumatic brain injury would be useful, but not essential. Ideally we are looking for people who can volunteer their time regularly, for a minimum of 3 months.
The LINK takes place in a group format, so we can offer volunteers practical experience of working with clients who have an acquired brain injury. There is also the opportunity of involvement with informal cognitive rehabilitation, or with planning activities such as art or music, or with monitoring client satisfaction with the service, or signposting.
If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering at the LINK, please contact HNWL’s Service Manager to request an application form on 07726 325222, or email info@headwaynorthwestlondon.org.uk
