Headway North West London [HNWL] runs a support group, the Harrow Support Group, which meets on one evening a month, to provide support for those in the local area whose lives have been affected by acquired / traumatic brain injury. Meetings are open to people with an acquired brain injury, their families and carers, and interested professionals. The Harrow Support Group is facilitated by experienced volunteers. The support group operate on a “drop-in” basis, and visitors are welcome. However, if you are planning to visit the support group for the first time, it is advisable to phone HNWL [on 07726 325222] in advance of a meeting, just in case the group has organized an outing.
HNWL also runs a service called The LINK, which provides informal social rehabilitation for people in North West London with an acquired brain injury. The LINK takes place on Thursdays, and use of this service is only by referral, which may be from a healthcare professional, social worker, family member or self-referral.
